The Recreation and Culture Division of the City of Sault Ste. Marie strives to ensure that opportunities exist for the provision of, and participation in, recreational and cultural activities for people who live in and visit Sault Ste. Marie.
Recreation and culture are essential and should be included as part of everyone's daily lifestyle. The Division is responsible for community recreational and cultural needs, including: seniors services, recreation and sports services, Roberta Bondar Park and Tent Pavilion, Waterfront Walkway, Roberta Bondar Marina, Bellevue Marine Park, sports facilities, outdoor youth programming and the Ermatinger•Clergue National Historic Site.
This also includes the Parks & Recreation Advisory Committee, the Historic Sites Board, the Cultural Advisory Board, the Sault Ste. Marie Municipal Heritage Committee, the Museum Management Board, and liaison with the Arts Council of Sault Ste. Marie and District.
Staff support special events such as Bon Soo and Canada Day.
The City of Sault Ste. Marie Alcohol Risk Management Policy is administered by the Recreation and Culture Division.
